Thin is healthy, fat is not. Right? Not necessarily. So many people, of all shapes and sizes, believe that they are not OK as they are. They are not thin enough. They are not muscular enough. They are not voluptuous enough. But the goal is simply to be healthy. Health and fitness are about enhancing your overall sense of energy and enjoyment of life. And about helping you weather the highs and lows of life, whether physical or emotional. These things are possible at ALL body sizes—but not if you are starving. Or malnourished by the latest fad diet or an eating disorder. Or in poor condition due to inactivity.
Remember the following:
• Body size diversity is normal.
• Body size is NOT the determining measure of your’s or anyone else’s health or worth as a person.
• Crash diets don't work.
• Exercise should be fun.
• Don't be controlled by the media's stereotypes of the perfect body.
ACCEPT YOURSELF and OTHERS for who they are, not for what their measurements might be. A body that exercises regularly is generally a healthy body, whether that body is fat, thin, or somewhere in between. We all need to stop using the word NORMAl when we tal about weight and start focusing on realistic goals and expectations, including exercising regularly and just being more active on a daily basis.
